Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to cut down on the frequency of manual hoovering. Select a vacuum with good navigation, has the ability to clean corners and stairs and has an enormous bin that only needs to be emptied periodically.
There are also models that mop and charge themselves which can be important for people with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and are able to navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we tested. It may get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes around three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or voice.
The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and sweep the area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households and can fit in well next to a coffee table or on a bookshelf where you can wave it around like an enchanted wand.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It swiftly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum and back.
This model also has docks that charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments as well as the clip for a wand. This is a significant improvement over the older Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. This is enough time to sweep the average-sized home, but not enough to get into every corner. (A second pass generally works). budget robot vacuum has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is an affordable model that's a great choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all types of debris and sizes during our tests, and often passes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls and walls, which is a nice touch.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways because it has fewer components that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name that is found on all kinds of electronic gadgets for your home So it's no surprise that they're also one of the most reputable robotic vacuum and mop makers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to use and understand, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested which could be a problem for some shoppers.
The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. This feature allows you to check in on your children or pets when you're away. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that self-empties, which helps keep the robot's dustbin clean and maximizes suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are made for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path as well as a large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than the competition to keep the area free of debris for the longest period of time. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's cleaning up surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also comes with a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. You can also monitor the vacuum's battery status and send it back to its dock for charging at the push of one button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.
The app also makes it simple to steer the robot manually if needed. My living room rug for instance, has a darkly-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
